Nicci Lee is a beautiful mother of two daughters. Struggling with Celiac Disease and Lactose Intolerance, Nicci Lee has committed herself to a life of health and fitness. Nicci Lee: My name is Nicci Lee, I live in Calgary, Alberta, Canada with my fiance and my two daughters , Mikayla -4 and Payton – 2 . I am a stay at home mom/ house wife and am currently finishing my personal trainers certification. I am also a WBFF pro bikini model and Magnum Nutraceuticals sponsored athlete and work part-time in the restaurant industry.
Kim: Have you gone through a transformation?
Nicci Lee: Not only has my body transformed on the outside but the inside has also done a total transformation.
I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease and Lactose Intolerance this past summer. So my family and I have gone gluten free/ lactose free and almost 100 percent organic.
Kim: How did you get your body back post-baby?
Nicci Lee: I hired a personal trainer Bree Lind to help me get that fitness body I have always wanted. Although I am not near where I want to be I am very happy with where I have come thus far. Through my personal trainer I have learned new eating habits that have become a regular part of my life and how to workout the right way ( it sure makes a difference in the interest people have in weight lifting when you know how to workout properly) . Since my first weeks sessions with Bree I was obsessed with lifting weights and learning proper nutrition. I love seeing the changes in my body every week!
Kim: Anything you’ve accomplished you would like to share?
Nicci Lee: I feel that I have accomplished so much this year. I am growing into the person I believe I was meant to be.
I have over come my shyness and stage fright and have gained a confidence I never thought I would have in this life time. I have discovered the reward I feel inside from setting goals and achieving them ( something I have never really done in my life) and now live by goal setting.
I competed in my first fitness competition and won 1st place and my pro card.
I have found one of my passions in life not just for me but the passion of helping others through health and fitness, although I am not yet a certified trainer I have started workout plans for a couple of woman and am very proud to say one of my clients is down 33 pounds to date.
I have accomplished a lot with the ways my girls think with eating and staying active ( instead of watching tv and choosing bad foods)
Kim: What is your favorite fit-mom, fit-family meal? Snack? Any go to items?
Nicci Lee: Gluten free greek yogurt with berries sprinkled on top with a dash of cinnamon is one of our favourite snacks . We also like turkey muffins with lots of green, red and yellow peppers and onions. They are easy and delicious and I can take them any where with us because they are good hot or cold!
Nicci Lee: We love going over to the field across from our house and playing soccer. At home we have gym mats to practise gymnastics everyday.
Kim: How do you stay fit amidst a hectic schedule and manage to do it all?
Nicci Lee: Whether it is waking up before my daughters and fiance do to hit the gym, dropping my girls off at mama and papa’s house for an hour or taking the to the gym and putting them in the day care there, I always find a way to get a work out in. Some days if I am so busy I only have 30 minutes at home to get one in I’ll include my girls in my workout, Its fun for them and I still get it done. With practising gymnastics we always incorporate stretching into it so that is the way I get my stretching in. I also like to plan and prep my meals every sunday for the week.
Kim: Words of motivation and inspiration for other moms?
Nicci Lee: Never forget your “me” time. Every mother needs time for her self and it IS OK!
