Jasmine Ramirez is a very busy mother of three.  With a husband often deployed, she does it all on her own. Never making excuses, she workouts in her living room if she has to. Make sure to read her advice for Moms, she is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. Join me in celebrating, Jasmine, and let her story encourage and inspire you.

Kim: Share a little about you.

Jasmine: We live in Oceanside California and have 3 children.

Kim: Have you gone through a transformation?

Jasmine: Absolutely! After each child I have made a goal to be more fit than before!

Kim: How did you get your body back post-baby?

Jasmine: I started working out 3-4 weeks after my 3rd baby. My husband was away at training so I did light joint strengthening and cardio based workouts at home in my living room during naps. I also began to diet at this time. When my daughter was 6 weeks old my husband returned home and I was able to go to the gym in the evenings and begin to lift weights again. And things just got better from there! 🙂

Kim: Anything you’ve accomplished you would like to share?

Jasmine: I competed in the bikini division less than 5 months after giving birth to my 3rd baby and won First Place at the NPC Gold Coast Muscle Classic! I had also competed before my 3rd baby. I competed in 2010 when my children were 3 and 2 years old and won 1st place also. Staying fit throughout my pregnancy was hard but I also was able to celebrate with a spread in Dezzi Magazine where I posed 8 months pregnant with baby number 3.

Even with young children, work, and a deployed husband in the Marine Corps, it is always possible to achieve your goals! Its hard work, its takes a while, the sacrifices are large,the dieting takes time to get used to, but it is absolutely worth it!!!

Kim: What is your favorite fit-mom, fit-family meal? Snack? Any go to items?

Jasmine: My children and I looove turkey burgers! I love mine with mustard and avocado with a little mozzarella cheese. Go items for me are peanuts!

Kim: Favorite Fit-Family activity?

Jasmine: Dancing! Even though my children are involved in some sports, I find dancing and family wrestling matches always get the kids a good, healthy heart rate jump!

Kim: How do you stay fit amidst a hectic schedule and manage to do it all?

Jasmine: Planning ahead! Balance! Planning ahead, sacrifices, and did I mention planning ahead? If you don’t plan, it will not happen! When my husband is deployed, during their nap time works best. Now since my baby is old enough, I bring her with me to a gym with a daycare in the evening around 6pm. Its part of our schedule. I have to slip it after my daughters gymnastics (which is at 4pm), and before dinner. Throughout the day im emailing and texting my online clients. When I was working full-time, my workouts were much later and mostly at home in my living room.
So I don’t take a long time in the gym, i like high intensity interval training. I can burn a lot of calories in a shorter period of time. Great for busy moms! Its hard, its tiring, but it you want it bad enough, you will MAKE a way!

Kim: Words of motivation and inspiration for other moms?

Jasmine: We work so hard, many don’t see all the hard work we put in to our children and we owe it to ourselves to be fit and happy! Guilt tends to be an emotion that can hinder your motivation. But when im working out, I’m so much happier, a lot less stress, more energy, and can be that much more of a better mother to my children. There’s something empowering about being a fit mother. And once you find it, you will find a woman you never thought possible. If I can do it, anyone can!! I will also share words that Kim Dolan Leto herself shared with me that really helped me to prepare for my competition, ” if you can take care of 3 kids you can easily kill a fitness show”. And she’s right! Nothing is more challenging than being a good mother. If you can do that, you can achieve your fitness goals!
