Inspirational Mom, Fayth Henley

Fayth Henley, a mother of 3 and personal trainer, shows that fitness is the way she lives. This fit mom can run a 5k in 20 minutes!  Fayth’s simple straight forward approach to clean eating and no excuses training made pregnancy and post-pregnancy much easier to maintain her healthy fit physique-not an easy task with her husband away in Afghanistan for 11 months. She feels if other people can do it, why can’t she?

Don’t you love the spirit of someone who chooses to find a way rather than find an excuse? Join me in celebrating Inspirational Mom, Fayth Henley.

Kim: Share a little about you.

Fayth: I am a 34-year-old part-time personal trainer and mom to three beautiful children. JD is 8, Sophie is 4, and Emily is 2. I live in Hull, Massachusetts on the beach where we spend most of our time during the summer. I am an avid runner about 50-60 miles a week and weight train 5 times per week. I would love to become a fitness model but with such a busy schedule with the kids I feel like it’s out of my reach. I am extremely dedicated to fitness and have maintained it throughout 3 pregnancies. I had three huge babies one being close to 10 pounds and have been back in shape within weeks. I wasted no time getting back in to the swing of things. I recently started teaching boot camp classes to a lot of my mom friends in their neighborhoods. I love to be an inspiration to other moms who feel like getting the body they want is out of reach. I was a single mom while my husband spent 11 months in Afghanistan and I was at the gym everyday. Gotta make what you really want happen someway.

Kim: Have you gone through a transformation?

Fayth: If you consider delivering 3 big babies and getting my body back and stronger each time then yes I have.

Kim: How did you get your body back post-baby?

Fayth: I stuck with my running and weight training routine throughout my pregnancies and only gained around 25 pounds for each baby. I was back at the gym working out within a week or two and was very dedicated at getting my body back.

Kim: Anything you’ve accomplished you would like to share?

Fayth: I guess I’ve accomplished the body I’ve always wanted and being able to run a 5k in 20 minutes is a huge accomplishment for me. This racing season I’m shooting for under 20 minutes.

Kim: What is your favorite fit-mom, fit-family meal? Snack? Any go to items?

Fayth: We eat a lot of grilled chicken, rice, and veggies for dinner. I also buy lots of fruits and keep them cut up and ready for easy access. I also make great sweet potato whole wheat pancakes that I freeze for easy heat up in the morning.

Kim: Favorite Fit-Family activity?

Fayth: My family and I love to go for bike rides.

Kim: How do you stay fit amidst a hectic schedule and manage to do it all?

Fayth: I have one school aged child and two little one’s who go to the gym with me. They love the daycare and play with their friends while I get my 2 hour workout in. On weekends when it’s warm I go for long runs along the beach or get to hit up the gym while my husband is home.

Kim: Words of motivation and inspiration for other moms?

Fayth: Anything is possible if you really want it. I use to have women come in to my gym and tell me they don’t have the time to workout. There are plenty of opportunities to get in those workouts as long as your willing to put in the effort. I was able to do it with a husband overseas and 3 kids under 6. If I can anyone can:)
