Brittany Gaylord shares her story to help inspire and motivate other mothers that they are capable of anything. She derives her strength and boundless energy from her beautiful daughter and supportive family. Proving that it’s possible to be a professional athlete, work full-time, and be a successful mother and wife, Brittany is a role model to women. Thank you Brittany for sharing your story and for being a beautiful example of a happy, healthy and fit mother.
Kim: Share a little about you.
Kim: Have you gone through a transformation?
Brittany: Every womans body goes through significant changes and transformations throughout their pregnancy. I was blessed enough to have a healthy pregnancy and was able to workout throughout my full term. After giving birth to my daughter my husband and I had sold our rodeo company and thought it would be a good time to give the new IFBB Bikini division a shot. I stepped onstage October 22nd in Culver City at the Titans show just 7 months post baby and had the best time!!
Kim: How did you get your body back post-baby?
Brittany: I love-love my jogging stroller. It’s a great way for the baby to take a nap, spend some time with my husband & get my workout all in one. We have beautiful trails right outside our front gate so we just get up and go.
I’m really into total body training with a lot of bodyweight exercises. You can train like this anywhere so I started back lightly after a few weeks post-baby. Bailey Rae gets a kick out of watching me workout in our backyard.
I’d like to publicly acknowledge Kim Oddo for his help to get me competition ready!
Kim: Anything you’ve accomplished you would like to share?
Brittany: My whole pregnancy was truly a pleasurable experience, one which I now am able to coach and help other women through my pre/post natal coaching. So many complaints and negative side effects of pregnancy can be eliminated through correct nutrition and supplementation. Something a lot of women tend to not understand or put much effort into. A healthy pregnancy is not only beneficial for you but also your bun in the oven.
Kim: What is your favorite fit-mom, fit-family meal? Snack? Any go to items?
Brittany: We’re pretty basic when it comes to food. I love rice cakes and peanut butter for a snack.
Brittany: Being able to step back onstage & have my family as such a huge part of my preparation and positive support. To see and hear my husband and daughter cheering gave a whole new meaning to competing.
Kim: How do you stay fit amidst a hectic schedule and manage to do it all?
Brittany: Being a mom, professional athlete and having a full-time job forces you to be organized and on a tight schedule. I am lucky to have such a supportive family and we work through things together. Waking up to such a happy bouncing baby girl keeps you going. All moms would agree there is nothing like it.
Kim: Words of motivation and inspiration for other moms?
Brittany: Being a mom gives you the strength and power to conquer anything and everything.
