Few people have ever inspired me like Brandy Flores. When I dreamed of being a fitness model her pictures were all over my inspiration board. Brandy has graced many fitness magazine covers and was featured as a Hydroxycut transformation twice in print and on TV! After all that success it’s hard to believe that what shines through most in Brandy is her humility. In every picture she makes you feel like you’re looking at your best friend. She exudes goodness, and it comes from a very real place.  As a fitness role model and mom, Brandy is mother to two beautiful daughters. Brandy has had her share of ups and downs, she has gone through the pain of divorce and multiple knee surgeries, weight gain and loss, but throughout it all she maintains her inner strength and desire to help other people. Brandy is starting a talent agency, because she wants to help other people’s dreams come true–how can you not love her?! Thank you Brandy for being one of my all time inspirations and for sharing your story.


Kim: Share a little about you.

Brandy: At this point in my life I consider myself an ex-fitness model. I live in Orange County now and have 2 daughters that are 5 Dylynn and Kylie who is 8. It is crazy that it has been 6 years since my last cover for Oxygen Magazine with my daughter who was 2 years old at the time. Time flies when you are raising 2 kids while getting divorced and trying to keep it together, and not forget about working out.

Kim: Have you gone through a transformation?


Brandy: I have gone through 2 transformations for Hydroxycut. Once I blew my knee out and had 3 knee surgeries and gained 30+ pounds and the other time was after I had my first child and I had gained 50lbs with her.

Kim: How did you get your body back post-baby?

Brandy: I will admit after the second child it was harder to get my body back. After my first child it was a lot easier since I was under contract and had to lose the weight right away in a certain amount of time. After my second daughter it was a new experience. I took my time and did it slowly. Spending much more time with my second daughter then at the gym.

Kim: Anything you’ve accomplished you would like to share?

Brandy: I have survived divorce and looking forward to the second chapter in my life. I am going to be starting my own talent agency, Mama B’s. I am excited to try to make other people’s dreams come true. I know I will always be doing something in the entertainment business. I have always loved infomercial products and hope to start sharing my knowledge on what is good and bad out there.

Kim: What is your favorite fit-mom, fit-family meal? Snack? Any go to items?

Brandy: My favorite easy fit mom meal right now is sweet potato fries and lean turkey burger. I use my nuwave oven practically everyday for something. I like to make lean meatloaf and mashed potatoes for a healthy meal for my girls. I am eating more fruit for my snacks and healthy smoothies with fresh fruit, greek yogurt , and Bee Pollen. I like to snack on Nuts, and Graham crackers for a sweet snack.

Kim: Favorite Fit-Family activity?

Brandy: Taking my girls to the roller skating rink. They also like to take our new puppy on walks.

Kim: How do you stay fit amidst a hectic schedule and manage to do it all?

Brandy: This is always a struggle! I have tried to learn how to balance my life with working out and eating right. But also making my kids a priority. This for me is always and forever will be my struggle. I do know that I need to take time for myself and working out is a great way for me to take care of me.:)

Kim: Words of motivation and inspiration for other moms?

Brandy: Just do something everyday for yourself. Even if you only have 30 minutes, take that time for you. Stretch, walk, run, just get moving and do something that gets your heart rate up. It’s important to remember that when you feel good about yourself, you will be a better mother and a great example for your children.
