Inspirational Dad, Tommy Dolan

Do you find yourself lacking the motivation to workout? Have you ever considered training for a cause? Running the Chicago Marathon might not seem like a big deal for some, but what about a non-runner, and full-time working father and husband? My brother, Tommy Dolan, saw a need and decided to take on an arduous goal with Team World Vision.

Here in America, water isn’t something we have to consider, but can you imagine if you didn’t have water for your children? As a father of a five-month-old and a three-year-old, he felt pulled to do something to help. Tommy’s heart is big, and he is on a mission.

Don’t you love people with passion? Those of us that say were going to so something, and actually do it, are far and few between.

I’m so moved by my brother’s commitment. Tommy is not a runner! How do you decide one day to run a marathon? You don’t! He committed to a running schedule and will take part in the Chicago Marathon on October 7th running for Team World Vision. Tommy has worked very hard to knock out every on of those 26.2 miles…whew! He participated in the Chicago half marathon with an astounding first time finish of  1:40.

Always an incredible athlete playing football in high school and college, Tommy went on to play Rugby at the top-level domestically and in many others countries. Tommy is one of the most disciplined men I know, and he loves God and his family with all his heart. As a proud sister, I will be supporting him all the way.

May I mentioned that The Lord healed Tommy’s leg when he was 10 after nearly severing it from running through a plate glass window. He is giving God the Glory and Dad would be just as proud as we are. Go TiDo Go!!! You inspire us all.
