 Something to CELEBRATE!

(Press play above to listen to this Podcast Episode of Strong. Confident. His. or read the blog below.)

If your goals and dreams feel shattered, too far fetched, or impossible, THIS message is for you!

God can breathe life into those areas that seem hopeless and defeated. In HIM, you have something to celebrate!  Join me for a timely message entrenched in Ezekiel 37.

The inspiration behind this message is Today is my Birthday, and it has always been a time when I reflect on what God has done. The prayers He’s answered, and the ones I’m waiting on, so I felt God wanting to use this episode as a way of speaking life into your goals.

With God, it isn’t over, it’s time to believe again, and today you will get a WORD-Based refreshing that will fuel your fire to speak life into His plan and purpose for you!

Jesus is the centerpiece here on the Strong. Confident. His. Podcast and Blog. And today I feel Him calling me to celebrate, not just my birthday, but all He’s done and will do, in my life and your life too!

Only God can turn, a mess into a message, a test into a testimony, a trial into a triumph, a victim into a victory, and pain into purpose.

This quote is true. I’ve lived it.

Like people don’t even recognize me lived it.

Like God closed doors I thought my heart couldn’t handle lived it, and moments when He’s elevated me to a place I know only He could.

  • What mess could be your message?
  • What pain could actually be your purpose?
  • Were you a victim that wants to help other women walk in victory?

Now maybe, like me, you started one of these dreams and goals, you could literally see it, you put on your Godfidence and went for it, but then nothing happened.

  • You started a business, but it failed
  • You wrote a book that no one would publish
  • You started to get fit, but life got in the way
  • Insert your trial here...

You tried, I mean really, really tried, but…it didn’t happen, so you thought maybe it was you and not God that was calling you to it.

When I was preparing for this episode, I kept thinking about times in my life when my dreams felt dead, when I chalked the failure up to must have been my plan, not His or it just wasn’t meant to be...but silently I struggled with thinking, God I could see it, I know you gave me that what happened?

With God it isn’t over, it’s time to believe again, and to speak life into His purposes for us today. I pray those hardships turn into answered prayers, because it’s time to grow forward with Him!

Ezekiel 37 is our biblical foundation.

Ezekiel means: "God will strengthen” don’t you love that!

Ezekiel was a prophet and a priest, and He was taken captive by Nebuchadnezzar in 597 BC. Ezekiel’s message is all about the “Glory of the Lord.

Ezekiel saw the Lord and a fresh “Breath of Heaven” rushed over his soul, he knew  that even though he was hauled off into captivity, God had a specific purpose and call on his life.

He revealed himself to Ezekiel and this gave Ezekiel a vision of restoration and renewal that only could come from the breath of God!

“The Dry Bones Live” Ezekiel 37: 1-14

37 The hand of the Lord came upon me and brought me out in the Spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full of bones. 2 Then He caused me to pass by them all around, and behold, there were very many in the open valley; and indeed they were very dry. 3 And He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?”

So I answered, “O Lord God, You know.”

4 Again He said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! 5 Thus says the Lord God to these bones: “Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live. 6 I will put sinews on you and bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin and put breath in you; and you shall live. Then you shall know that I am the Lord.” ’ ”

7 So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and suddenly a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to bone. 8 Indeed, as I looked, the sinews and the flesh came upon them, and the skin covered them over; but there was no breath in them.

9 Also He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the [a]breath, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.” ’ ” 10 So I prophesied as He commanded me, and [b]breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army.

11 Then He said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They indeed say, ‘Our bones are dry, our hope is lost, and we ourselves are cut off!’ 12 Therefore prophesy and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Behold, O My people, I will open your graves and cause you to come up from your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. 13 Then you shall know that I am the Lord, when I have opened your graves, O My people, and brought you up from your graves. 14 I will put My Spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I, the Lord, have spoken it and performed it,” says the Lord.’ ”

Now you might be new to the Bible and thinking Kim! Where are you going with this, dead dry bones, put it together, so here it is... Although this was the vision Ezekiel had almost 2,600 years ago, there is fresh revelation for us today.

  • What God wants us to learn from this is that nothing is too hard for Him.
  • God’s breath— His living Spirit, will enter the dead places in your life, and hope will rise!
  • What may appear hopeless and dead to you and me is a field full of possibilities for the Lord.
  • God can bring you back to life for Him.
  • No matter how dried up and worthless we may feel, God can restore us to life through His Word and Spirit. And that is something to celebrate!

So let’s go back to the current trial you’re in, the dream that feels dead, the goal that seems to far fetched or hopeless, and remember that...Only God can turn, your mess into a message, your test into a testimony, your trial into a triumph, and the pain into purpose.

He wants to help you, friend!

Your mess can become your message if you keep your focus on God and His answers and not the mess. Just as the cure for a snakebite can come from the venom of the snake, you having just successfully walked through and out of your mess can encourage someone else who is just starting to walk through his or hers.

The antidotes to snake bites are made from the very poison meant to kill. Therefore, what was meant to harm you has become the main ingredient in what heals you.

You gain power when you determine in your heart and mind with a fresh determination to be used by God like never before. Your mess will encourage others.

2 Timothy 4:7-8 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race and I have remained faithful.” Remain faithful to God and He will turn your mess into your message. – TD Jakes

Our Prayer

Dear God,

Thank you that you’re with us by your Spirit.  Thank you for the hope we have in You and your Word. God we want to be careful here because we know your breath isn’t like a magic fairy dust we can just wish over our goals. What we do know is that you are the only one who can revive the dead things in our lives, our failed fitness goals, our broken personal places: marriages, businesses, parenting.

Lord, give my sisters a fresh annointing, breathe life into those areas in their lives that seem hopeless and defeated. In YOU we have something to celebrate!

In Jesus’ name, amen!

Our Faith Fuel is a song today:

As I did my research for this episode, I found this song about Ezekiel 37. It’s called RATTLE and it’s by Elevation Worship (click to listen.)

 Saturday was silent

Surely it was through

But since when has impossible

Ever stopped You

Friday's disappointment

Is Sunday's empty tomb

Since when has impossible

Ever stopped You

This is the sound of dry bones rattling

This is the praise make a dead man walk again

Open the grave, I'm coming out

I'm gonna live, gonna live again

If there's anything that He can't do

Just ask the stone that was rolled

At the tomb in the garden

What happens when God says to move

I pray you see the things you thought were dead come to life as you speak life into those places that only God can move.

>>>As promised here’s my little birthday tip:

Rather than feel awkward, or dread your birthday, or wonder what to do so long you don’t do anything at all, start creating traditions.

For example, when people ask you what you want for your birthday, have everyone donate a bit to a spa day or host your own party, or picture your perfect day and make your birthday as close to that as possible...and get a birthday journal.

Write down what you did, every year, so you can look back. For those of us who still print pictures, you can add a photo too. I did this for my daughter, and it’s been amazing to watch her grow up, but oh too fast!
