This lesson is vital for your fitness success through faith.

Because we don’t want to do anything apart from God, we will be setting F.A.I.T.H. goals. These are a play on SMART goals, but they have key differences that enables us far beyond our ability. Jesus!

Why Faith Goals? Because faith sees the invisible and does the impossible. - Oral Roberts 

Step 5 of the F.I.T Bible Study Series is about setting a good foundation and mindset for changes to come with your new healthy lifestyle. Let me explain. 

Picture your life. Think of the issues you have dealt with that kept you on the sidelines and denied you health and happiness—depression, anxiety, fear, self-loathing. How long did you stay there? Are you still there? Just like the lame man by the healing pool, you have the option to get well. The only catch is that you too must get up and move. Jesus told him, “Get Up!” Is getting up all that’s holding you back? Setting F.A.I.T.H. goals are the way we can get up and get moving toward health and happiness.

What are F.A.I.T.H. goals?

F - Faith-filled and Specific - Seek God first and pray for wisdom to make God-led goals & get very specific about your needs and what’s desire is for you and your life.

A - Accountable - Accountability is what gets you to the finish line. It’s that daily focus that feeds your motivation. Accountability is the date on the calendar that you’re training for, it’s found in a trusted person you’ve agreed to work out with.

I - Inspiring - Inspiration can motivate us even through the toughest days, so keep inspiration in front of you. Make an inspiration board and fill it with things that will encourage you to press on toward achieving your goals.

T - Time-Based and Measurable - Setting a specific date to reach a goal will make all the difference in your progress.

H - Healthy - Healthy and realistic goals include weight loss of one to two pounds per week, lowering your blood pressure or cholesterol, and/or running two miles in under twenty minutes. Make sure your goal is setting you up for success.

  • Let us not forget, God can do the impossible in our fitness.
  • When we bring our goals to God, He blesses us with strength and power.
  • You are 42% more likely to reach your goal if it’s written down.

Stop wishing and start doing! What do you wish for? Now, how are you going to get there? Start by making an action plan and make sure you are including F.A.I.T.H. Goals! I know you can do it, friend!!
