Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. – Isaiah 43:18-19

Getting fit can feel like a lonely and confusing experience, right?

So often success is measured purely on physical results, but the emotional component of living healthy is where we win or lose, daily.

Many of us are trying to improve our health in a culture that makes it incredibly difficult. The typical American diet is unhealthy, lifestyles are sedentary and we’re inundated with products and promises offering quick results that don’t deliver. It’s easy to get overwhelmed and confused, and end up out of shape – both physically and emotionally.

Emotional issues greatly affect the success of our physical goals.

Did you know the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) maintains that 85% of all diseases are caused by emotions?

The health problems we’re facing now, and the diseases that may be lurking in our futures, are a direct manifestation of the emotional traumas we have lived through and how we have chosen to react to them. Choosing to face these, take away their power and allow genuine Godly healing to occur is how we find lasting success.

Does this sound familiar?

  • You workout and eat right, but you’re not seeing any results?
  • You’re extremely confused about what to do?
  • You just want to be able to look in the mirror and feel good about all the hard work you do rather than beat yourself up for any little thing you did wrong?

Emily felt frustrated in those very same ways…

Initially she came to me frustrated about her inability to stick with eating right and working out, but after a couple meetings the real problem surfaced.

The emotional pain from her recent divorce and the guilt she felt for her kids was deeply hurting her.  Her emotions were sabotaging her best efforts. She felt unworthy of success.

Sharing what God says about this has helped her free herself from feeling she didn’t deserve to achieve her goals. Although her goal was to lose weight and get healthy, her personal battles were preventing her from succeeding. The healing process takes time, but she isn’t in bondage to the lies anymore.
