Rochelle Oldfield is the transformation story that gives us all hope. When you read her interview, you can feel her transparency. Rochelle is a beautiful example of a mom that didn’t lose the baby weight the first time around and after her second child needed to find herself and believe in herself again. Boy did she do it! Although she doubted her goals, she put all the fear aside and forged ahead.
Join me in congratulating, Rochelle, and please share her story with someone it would inspire. Becoming a fit mom has a contagious cycle. One mom tells another mom how to eat and exercise, and then she tells someone. We motivate ourselves by inspiring others and give back through the process. It’s a beautiful thing!
Kim: Share a little about you.
Rochelle: My name is Rochelle Oldfield. I currently live in Knoxville, TN, but this is my 3rd residence in the last 3 years with 2 cross-country moves! I have 2 sons: Nikolai is 7 and Tanner is 3. I come from a small town in North Idaho where I met my husband when we were in high school. We then married and moved to Denver, CO then Aiken SC, Richland, WA and now Knoxville! It’s been rough at times but I wouldn’t change a thing!
Kim: Have you gone through a transformation?
Rochelle: Yes, I have gone through a transformation. It appears as a physical transformation, but was and continues to be a psychological and emotional one as well. I have always had a horrible self-esteem. Although I was a model throughout high school, I had few friends and a very low self-esteem due to a fairly rough family life. This continued to follow me through college and into adult life. It wasn’t until I began to work on the outside of my body that I begin to find the amazing, strong and talented woman I was on the inside.
Kim: How did you get your body back post-baby?
Rochelle: I never did get my body back post-baby with my first child. After my second son was born, I was so miserable. I had enough. I hired a trainer and read and followed everything Tosca Reno wrote. After our second cross-country move, I decided to step it up and joined Cathy Savage Fitness. My training was really increased and I was amazed at what I was accomplishing. This was when I really began to see a transformation happening inside and out.
Kim: Anything you’ve accomplished you would like to share?
Rochelle: 3 months after I hired my first trainer, I finished my first triathlon. I still can’t believe I did it! The night before I stood at the water’s edge with my husband crying. I wasn’t sure I could do it or why I was doing it. But the next day I did and when it was over I realized I could do ANYTHING I put my mind to. 2 years after that triathlon, I accomplished another goal I NEVER thought girls “like me” could do. I walked across the stage in the Fitness America World Championships in Vegas as a bikini competitor. I may not have won a trophy, but I won! And now nothing can stop me!
Kim: What is your favorite fit-mom, fit-family meal? Snack? Any go to items?
Rochelle: My family’s favorite go to meal is tacos. We deal with several food allergies, so it’s a meal that allows us all to eat together. We usually substitute beef for ground turkey or shredded chicken and I make my own taco seasoning. One thing I have so proud of is converting my husband and sons to using greek yogurt rather than sour cream!

Kim: Favorite Fit-Family activity?
Rochelle: My husband is originally from Canada, and both he and my oldest son play hockey so as a family we often go out to the cul-de-sac and play a game of street hockey! Keeps us all active and gives them extra practice!
Kim: How do you stay fit amidst a hectic schedule and manage to do it all?
Rochelle: Staying fit is a priority. It is scheduled into my day. My husband and I know that both of our activities are important so if something interrupts our schedule we work together to make it up. If I can’t make it to the gym because one of the boys is sick, my husband makes sure I get there later in the day. We are in constant communication. It isn’t an option to miss a workout anymore than it’s an option to just not go in to work!
Kim: Words of motivation and inspiration for other moms? Rochelle: You don’t have to have a background in health and fitness to create a healthy lifestyle and transform your body. Anyone can accomplish their dreams if they just decide that they will commit! You can do it! And I will be the first one in line to cheer you on!!!
