I have a special place in my heart for mothers. Becoming a mother is like joining a sisterhood where you immediately know everything that other person has endured and had the privilege to enjoy.
After the birth of my daughter Giavella, I was fortunate to work from home and nurse her. Nursing precluded me from strict dieting and time to work out was limited. I found P90X and Insanity Training extremely helpful for weight loss. Investing in a jump rope, yoga mat, kettle bell, and adjustable Bowflex Dumbbells, I was able to get my body back in shape. Keeping a journal of calories, workouts, and pictures of women whom had successfully gotten back in shape kept me motivated. Although I was tempted to by the lie that I was a mom now and did not need to be in great shape, I refused to believe it was over!

Here I am 38.5 weeks pregnant, and this is my first show after having Giavella. I never thought I could be in better shape after having a baby at 40. When I look at these pictures, it is hard for me to believe what our bodies are capable of doing.
